We are having a charity dinner at the Vineyard (book now as tickets will sell out, 27th September!) so I got the chance to eat there after our meeting. We had a great supporter with us as well as staff who will be doing so much of the work involved so that gave me a great chance to photograph the food. This Gala dinner is going to be magnificent, 5 courses with wine, a champagne reception and a great chance to network and have fun. Our last 5 events sold out completely which is why I would suggest you book now if you want a seat or a table.
We had a really positive meeting followed by a really delicious lunch.
Isn’t this the most magnificent gin and tonic you have ever seen? A work of art that made me keep the glass for my water afterwards.
Hand dived scallops with carrot, lemon and hazelnut, a brilliant mix of flavours which didn’t overpower the delicate flavour of the scallops but added texture and brought out the deliciousness of the dish.
A stunning Carpaccio of Balmoral Estate venison, hibiscus and horseradish. Apparently horseradish is a weed that grows like wild fire. Like heck it does but I am giving it another go this year. I saw James Martin hurling horseradish across his kitchen this week, he cant stand it but I love it’s sharpness and bite.

I love the presentation at the Vineyard. This started off as a quails egg with parmesan cream, then a jug of wild garlic veloute (and here I got severe plate envy) was poured into the bowl. Stunning
Ok I am making this too easy for you, go along to the Vineyard to try the dishes above but the include pork ribeye, duck breast and skate wing (Daniel please correct me if I am wrong) There were no complaints, just sighs of satisfaction.
This was my cherry wood smoked oxtail, fillet of beef, onion and pied bleu and it was fantastic. The meat was rich and melt in your mouth texture, the flavour was magnificent and there was more than enough for me.
These were the puddings, I had a wonderful selection of cheese with quince served with fennel bread, other puddings included chocolate, salted caramel, cocoa nibs and a fromage blanc sorbet. Finally there was a Citrus rice pudding, honey cream and iced kalamansi.
How adorable is this box of petit fours, a lovely chewy mini macaroon, a divine chocolate truffle type sweet and a mint ice cream! Totally fab. Even better if you go for lunch and have 3 dishes you only pay £29! A total bargain.
We paid for our meal.
