Festival Food – my recommendations – Part One Moorish

As you all know I am very keen on Arabic food and was thrilled to find an Arabic/African generally from hot places food stall at Green Man. I have done an interview for Kennet Radio with the owner of Cafe Moor which is a restaurant based in Leeds but with a travelling festival section. There were the most amazing colours and smells drawing me in along with friendly, smiley beautiful servers. I was lucky enough to get the interview with the boss, Kada, who then treated me to a Bourek. He was offering several flavours of these tasty filo parcels encasing delicious spicy lamb Merguez sausages or fish or falafel.

Oh look at these inviting mounds of fresh and delicious olives and hummus, dolma and tabbouleh

Actually I have just realised that this entire stall looks like Rachel’s bedroom, Rachel is the daughter doing her Masters in Bristol who manages to make every room she ever owns look exactly the same, colourful and full of vibrancy and happiness. She is also one step away from getting an ASBO due to the amazing parties she throws. Every night. Loudly. Constantly.

As you will see from the pictures there were piles of delicious sides, olives, houmous, dolma and much much more. My only request was that he should do a lamb kebab dish and he is considering it. Oh and he does khobz!!!! How Yemeni is that, perfection for me.

  1. Hahaha. Very nice. Have tried some of these at festivals and they are truly delicious – especially The Roaming Rotisserie. I am not about to get an asbo!
